It means that where are you from is a reasonable question if you had never met before.

You didn't read her account then.

No dressing in African garb means it's a reasonable and expected question to be asked... unless you're looking for a fight.

And it seems neither did you.

Her citizenship is British, her ethnicity is not, nor was her outfit.

"British" isn't an ethnicity.

Imagine wearing an outfit that screams to everyone "I'M AFRICAN!!!" because you're proud of that fact and then getting offended when someone takes an interest and asks a friendly question, and then you turn around and complain in the newspapers about it in order to destroy the person who asked, who then gets canceled from her position because this hateful woman weaponized white guilt for her own vengeance.  Not to mention the fact that her charity only helps people in Britain from her own race.

Again, you didn't read her account of the incident so I don't even know why you're running your mouth, but it never takes much for your racist side to come out.

Yup I read it, probably before you did.

Oh, and from your article:

"Fulani claimed after she was repeatedly asked about her origins, that Hussey asked her what part of the African continent she was from. It is offensive and ignorant to assume that because someone is black, they have come from the African continent."

This is the most retarded statement of life.  Oh, and...

"Fulani also alleged that she was asked when she first came to the UK, which many feel is a galling question to be asked when you are from the country."

SHE WAS WEARING AN AFRICAN OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES.  What % of black women born and raised in the UK wear African outfits to parties?  She's also an 83 year old white woman FFS, not the most culturally educated group, give the old bag a break.  Yeesh!

And yeah criticizing a moron who happens to be black is racist in your world, we know.

It's one thing to ask someone where they are from but if you tell them you're British and they continue to badger you about where they're really from you should kick the old bag in her dusty tw@t.

H .  Not to mention the fact that her charity only helps people in Britain from her own race.

She also complained that the royals are racist  trolls.

I think that the royals are racist trolls but who needs that served to them as news?

Also good for her for helping her own people.

I haven't been here for some months so I am now playing catchup.

Just an observation, your GG seems to have the real "authority" of the Crown in Canada, right? I mean the King of Canada always listens to the PM's "recommendation" of the candidate for governor-general, who has for a long time been a Canadian rather than a Briton. So the ACTUAL day to day head of state of Canada is the GG not the King. Thus, basically, your head of state is appointed by your head of government. I guess if you adopted a Canadian Republic, and therefore there was a President of Canada who held the same [limited] authority and responsibility as the present GG; he/she would no longer be appointed purely by prime ministerial fiat. Is this correct? I mean, is that all that would really change about the Canadian head of state, should you go from Kingdom to Republic?

Any change would require revision to the Constitution, which would require approval from the federal parliament and a significant majority of the provinces. But then they could change it to whatever they want.

I see.

There's a bunch of different ways to elect/appoint a head of state in different countries. Popular vote, election by parliament. Germany has a sort of hybrid body called the Federal Convention, in which each state (land) elects delegates (as Americans do electing their states' electors), but then the entire membership of the Bundestag is added to it. I guess one could consider that a "hybrid" method.

Any change in the status of the Monarch, GG or provincial LG's requires unanimous approval of the provinces.

Yes exactly.  But I doubt any PM would limit their own power like that, because they're a bunch of a-holes, especially our current a-hole.  They would probably just change it to ousting the Crown and replacing the monarch's role with the GG and continue to nominate the GG and keep them as a rubber stamp.  Quebec would agree to it in a second, other provinces maybe not, but they don't need a majority.

They don't need a majority? Where did you get that from?

Section 38 of the Act provides that the Constitution of Canada may be amended, if there is no specific provision to the contrary, by resolutions of the Senate and House of Commons and two-thirds of the provinces (seven) having at least 50% of the population of all the provinces combined.

Yes they do, I posted the section of the Constitution that deals with changing the status of the Monarch, GG or LG's.
