modern democracy was founded on armed insurgencies in the United States and France.

And the existing powers certainly tried their darndest to do bastardly things to put a stop to it.

They think the cause of creating an Islamic homeland is worth fighting and possibly dying for. Ok. I understand that.  I also understand that the people who don't want to become part of an Islamic homeland also think their cause is worth fighting and dying for.  Everybody thinks their cause is great and wonderful, and sometimes these ideas clash.

And that's generally why we don't run to get involved in civil wars

This is a typical type of conflict in that we look for blame in parties, both of whom have done something wrong.

But a million refugees is what we should think about.  I don't know what we can do with that.  Both parties are pretty far removed from our influence, so far away.  One thing might be to pay attention to such things earlier on.

Can this be spun in some way that bruises conservatives fragile sensibilities? Otherwise, this isn't going to get much traction. Are they Christian? Are they white? Do they drive pickup trucks? Is someone trying to take their guns away? Maybe we can work with this.

So, I understand you're mad that conservatives aren't more concerned about this issue. But tell me this: why aren't the leftists more up in arms over it? The lack of interest among the left is just as apparent as the lack of interest on the right. Why such a profound difference between the furor over Syrian refugees vs the disinterest in the Rohingyas? Is it because we haven't had a photogenic Rohingya toddler was up on a beach yet?

It's because they might have to admit their peace prize winner was made of straw.

You misunderstand. I know little to nothing about this because it’s not sexy enough for the media. It’s not sexy enough for the media because it doesn’t drive a wedge. So if I’m mad at anything then I’m mad at the media.

Ahh, a chance to get a shot in at Conservatives! Well done! Not even the far lefties came up with that!

But then, you've been sliding further and further left...

If someone can attack leftists for her peace prize, you can easily attack conservatives for her honourary citizenship.

Syria started off a proxy war between Russia/Iran/Syria and Europe/US and immediately involved the west so obviously our media paid more attention.  When the media pays attention, people pay attention.

Second, these people are heading mostly to Bangladesh, not Europe so who cares.  Plus they have no oil, gas, or minerals so they have nothing to offer in return for interference.

With no horse in the race, nothing to gain from helping, and the fact that they're not trying to get to our countries, it's gonna have to get really bad before people start paying attention.

Who did that?
I think attacking her is dumb. She clearly isn't in charge over there, and such power as she has is moral, and can evaporate pretty fast if she says the wrong thing.
