Can this be spun in some way that bruises conservatives fragile sensibilities? Otherwise, this isn't going to get much traction. Are they Christian? Are they white? Do they drive pickup trucks? Is someone trying to take their guns away? Maybe we can work with this.

Well I for one am surprised that we haven't already received our Rohingyas, and am wondering if there is anything we can do to get 50,000 Rohingyas to Canada before the end of the year. We need to get our Rohingyas before Bangladesh takes them all!

This appears to be just the latest stage of a military conflict which has seen the Rohingyas fighting to create an Islamic state from lands currently within Myanmar's borders. This conflict has been going on since the end of WWII.

I don't care about this issue unless it's told in a hip new Netflix series.
"The economy has been relatively strong but Trudeau has chosen to run deficits year after year & has said will continue to do so well into the future.  This means we'll be in a worse & more vulnerable financial position when a recession hits when we HAVE to run deficits again." - Me, Oct. 3, 2019

I'm not sure whether condolences or congratulations are in order.

I guess in many ways, the Burmese are a right set of bastards!

What would Buddha do?  I don't know, burn their village and overturn their boat, I suppose.

And Jesus would turn the other cheek, but that hasn't stopped Christian nations from responding to armed insurgency with military force either.

Yeah, they're bastards too.

Well, maybe armed insurgents are also bastards, and the only way to deal with bastards is by doing bastardly things.

Bastardly things to who, though?  Their Moms and Dads?  Sons and Daughters?

modern democracy was founded on armed insurgencies in the United States and France.
