Oh no. Donald Trump Jr. has Covid. I feel horrible for him. Just horrible.

the Rona seeks out nepotism... just got ColludyRudy's son too! Andrew H. Giuliani... "Special Assistant" to Pres. Trumpy!

as a precaution, Rudy is said to be self-isolating - no word yet on how this will impact the elite strike-force legal team working to return the stolen win to Trumpy

Normally I wouldn't wish ill on someone who was infected but considering the subject, I think it would be Karma for the Trump clan to experience some of the tragedy for which they have been largely responsible. This is a guy who said Covid deaths were almost nothing back o October when they were around 230,000.

Responsibility for COVID's success is one of those things for which I think it's appropriate to blame a good part of it on its victims.  This virus struck in the middle of a global pandemic of stupidity that's been defended and encouraged to rage unchecked thru our species for a couple of decades now, at least.

If COVID want's to survive like any other self-respecting virus maybe it best evolve a little sympathy for its hosts lest it's success affixes to tightly to its spiky little head. Speaking of karma maybe we should adopt the same ethic towards our planet.

Trump and his supporters have knowingly lied about the virus and actively encouraged that stupidity. No sympathy for any of them. Not one iota.

Just as they have when it comes to climate change.

It may be worse in the US but stupidity went global and viral long before COVID or even Trump came along. He may be the latest biggest quack in the pond but we're all more or less sitting there too.

If there's anybody actually interested in what makes the virus grow in some areas and not as much in others, they may want to take a close look at Vancouver Island recently and offer an explanation

Cases have been low on the Island but its rate of increase is now the highest in the province.

I must have underestimated you wilber. That's about the most intelligent comment I've heard in weeks from the spammer group!

Even though it fails completely at the task of providing some kind of explanation?

Slow and steady, like a common garden slug!

It's a beginning!

It's a little ironic if not unfair that a people displaying the least concern for COVID will be the first to receive the vaccine. It's especially galling knowing that half of them will refuse it anyway. Oh well, more for those of us who do want it I guess.

You misinterpreted that which you quoted.

Figure out how and why without my help.

I would be open to that.  Pick a day, have everyone prepare, and shut 'er down for a few weeks.

Only thing is unlike Aussies, our close proximity to the US has resulted in an abundance of COVIDiots who have politicized a virus.  I see them every day on Facebook comment sections of local news.  Some may be trolls but their comments get so many likes, I wonder.
My daughter lives in the Shuswap area, its a pretty conservative place.  She believes the virus is real, wears a mask, doesn't go out much; as she says, "I'm playing the game".  But she thinks the Covid deaths and illnesses are being overstated, that media and government are engaging in a fear campaign, and that she's lost freedom due to mask mandates in various stores.

My brothers live in the Cariboo; two of them operate a pretty busy garage.  One of them referenced a "scamdemic" in a conversation; the other said that they were too redneck to wear a mask.  One of these guys has diabetes; the other has a daughter who is immunocompromised.

None of these three spend much time on social media.  They are not stupid people, and nor even slightly partisan - two of them rarely even vote.  Still, they seem to have accepted a lot of the messaging that downplays the virus, and promotes the idea that we're being scammed for some purpose - even if they're not entirely sure what or why.

Maybe there will have to be massive death before these people clue in.  I don't know, but I find it both sad and scary.

It was pretty easy to understand. You said:

Which isn't true, even though some Americans will be among the first. You've missed the fact that it's not an American vaccine.

Get over your bad feelings before you step in more dogshit.

It's hard to understand because of course they're not stupid people. The only help I can offer you to understand is that they're obviously rightists politically and that makes them more conscious of their loss of liberty they take for a given.

Or at least, their perception that they are having their liberty stolen from them by government. While we know that government is just trying to do the right thing.

Vindication of government's just cause has just been handed to us by Sweden!

Maybe it would help them if you dared to pass on the message?
