Fact check: Trump falsely denies FDA warning on hydroxychloroquine, baselessly alleges political bias in study

President Donald Trump continued Tuesday to make false and baseless claims about hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug he has repeatedly promoted and now says he is himself taking.

Antimalarial drug touted by President Trump is linked to increased risk of death in coronavirus patients, study says --- An analysis of 96,000 patients shows those treated with hydroxychloroquine were also more likely to suffer irregular heart rhythms

A study of 96,000 hospitalized coronavirus patients on six continents found that those who received an antimalarial drug promoted by President Trump as a “game changer” in the fight against the virus had a significantly higher risk of death compared with those who did not.

People treated with hydroxychloroquine, or the closely related drug chloroquine, were also more likely to develop a type of irregular heart rhythm, or arrhythmia, that can lead to sudden cardiac death, it concluded.

The study, published Friday in the medical journal the Lancet, is the largest analysis to date of the risks and benefits of treating covid-19 patients with antimalarial drugs. It is based on a retrospective analysis of medical records, not a controlled study in which patients are divided randomly into treatment groups, which is the method considered the gold standard of medicine. But the sheer size of the study was convincing to some scientists.

Current major studies show the HCL increases death rate significanly among people who use it for Corona, especially people who have preexisting heart disease and/or obesity. Trump has both and takes HCL. Perhaps the election will be earlier.

I will take the failure of entering phase 2 of reopening this weekend, as we are.
Know how many covid cases we have in hospital? None. Know how many new cases today? None.
North Dakota is over 100 a day and they don't even have a population for it to spread among.

“To keep new cases from entering our shores,” Trump said in an Oval Office address on March 11, “we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days.”

The sequence was repeated at airports across the country that weekend. Harrowing scenes of interminable lines and unmasked faces crammed in confined spaces spread across social media.

The images showed how a policy intended to block the pathogen’s entry into the United States instead delivered one final viral infusion. Until there is a vaccine the lack of consistent presentation of symptoms of Covid 19 mean they will continue to spread. This thennmeanscsomecwill argue we need everyone tracked  to go along with early testing to prevent the spread.

Early testing yes. Tracking without proper safeguards to prevent privacy violations and political abuse is a real concern.

Next if a vaccine is created people will argue it has a tracking device in it making us all state captives.
