CPC ShadowMinisterForHealth, the Buffalo Gal member from Oklaberta Michelle Rempel, has been nattering on about the failure of Liberals... Liberals... to approve "Point of Care" rapid Covid-19 tests (tests that can be performed outside of labs... like in doctors offices, clinics, (perhaps pharmacies)). Of course, the proper review and approval process is done by Health Canada - which has now authorized the use of the Abbott Laboratories "ID NOW" rapid testing device that can produce results in 15 minutes - the fourth point of care rapid test the health authority/regulator has approved; as follows:
in a related announcement, the federal government indicated that it would buy some 7.9 million ID NOW tests from the U.S.-based firm for distribution in Canada.
by the by, Health Canada has also previously reviewed and approved 30+ Covid-19 lab-based tests...
