Yes, I concede that flattening the curve, and even the stay at home orders were necessary, especially during the first month or so when little was known about the virus.
And the more you do it, the better able you are to manage it. Even with the shut down, largely uninhabited states like North Dakota couldn't get their numbers below 30 new cases a day and still can't. But in a shutdown where people are willing to cooperate, the numbers can eventually drop to nothing, as they have in Manitoba. That's a very desirable place to begin opening up because then, with effective tracking, you can stay open.
Nothing will hurt the economy worse than know-nothing Trumpers downplaying the seriousness of the virus and encouraging it to be spread further. That will just get everything shut down again.

Interesting briefing from Dr Henry today. She presented BC's epidemiology with lots of charts. Turns out most BC's cases originated from European/Eastern Canada and Washington State strains.

China may have lied for even longer than originally thought.  This suggests the rest of the world could’ve significantly cut the spread of the virus much earlier if property warned.  China should be made to pay for this kind of cover up.

Satellite data suggests coronavirus may have hit China earlier: Researchers

Yes, the virus hit the west coast first via China.  Regardless, BC has a third of the population of Ontario.  Much easier to deal with.

And lets hope trump pays politically for his kind of cover up.

The first few cases yes but the epidemiology shows that the great majority of BC cases are from viruses that had their origins in Europe/Eastern Canada and Washington State, not China.

Correct me if I am wrong the Euro-Eastern Canada and Wash state cases originated from China as did all the original Covid 19 cases. Its been traced back to Chinese wet markets specifically poorly handled dead bats being sold for food. Henta virus, Swine, Avian flus, Sars all from wet markets with poor meat handling practices. Contact with blood and other mammal fluids such as urine, excrement, saliva  left to incubate on tables and then passed by hand to hand and mouth and eyes and nose is the cause.

You have me mistaken with an eagle. I only come to eat your carcass.

Of course the virus originated in China but most of the people who brought it to BC came from Europe/Eastern Canada and Washington State, not China.

Some folks can’t wrap their heads around that...  they want the spread of the virus to confirm their biases and/or preconceived narrative.

40,000 watched a rugby match at Eden Park in Auckland today. Sigh.

I was under the impression that New Zealand is 100% COVID free?
