Thank you Dia.

A way back in July of 1999,  at a kibbutz (Artzi)  ar Giv'at Haviva, the French Ministry of Education financed what as called, “The Village of Tolerance,” . I knew someone in the French government involved in this. At that time French, Palestinian and Israeli underprivileged youth, met for a week and used  music, drama, and art to interact. From that a joint music band came about and toured Europe.

That said, I would love to take this angry girl and other young women her age, and Israeli girls her age and bring them together away from their parents and adults in a neutral, safe environment. That is the best way to defuse time bombs of human form in my humble opinion who have trauma. I have had my share of youth her age spit at me.They are spitting at an adult world that betrayed them. Adults were supposed to make them feel safe and did the exact opposite whether it be her parents, the IDF, etc. For me she is the symptom not the cause. She is a symptom of adults having failed to protect children and teach them positive possibilities.

For me she is at one level my daughter. On another I see someone programmed to explode on command. Whether its too late to defuse her so to speak I do not know. I  hope she can find something other than anger to get through her life.

You may be wordy, but one thing I like about you is that you actually read what I post and respond to that with reason - even if we disagree, there is conversation.   I've seen video of Israeli adults providing kids with info designed to make them hate/fear Palestinians and Arabs, and I've seen the same from Palestinian adults.   It is the kids who suffer the most, and what better way to create extremists but to start them young?   And it's effective; it's why recruiters in Western lands focus on young people rather than results.

It just makes me so sad.
