That's why, while well-intentioned it would be suicidal.

Well what's the end game, then? The Muslim population is going to continue to grow much faster than Jews, both in the West Bank/Gaza, and in Israel proper. The Israelis are not going to be able to move enough people into the West Bank to not be heavily outnumbered by Palestinians. And the more they move in the more targets they are and the more expensive it becomes to protect them from attacks from an increasingly angry Palestinian population.

Persuading Jordan to take over the West bank and annex it into Jordan, and Egypt to annex Gaza is the only alternative I can see.

You think Israel will give it back?  Not in a million years.

The current gov of Netanyahu will never give it back, doesn't believe in a 2-state solution, and believes the entirety all belongs to Israel based on 2000 year old land claims.

Some will argue the settlement building is done for negotiation leverage.  The settlement building is done in order to annex and claim the land.  If the Israeli army were to roll in to the WB and kick the out the remaining Palestinians, who would stop them?

Who would have stopped them ten or twenty or thirty years ago?
