Thanks. Well the middle name seems to rule out him being a Muslim, unless he's a convert.  That's a relief.  I wonder the motive.  Who attacks a priest during service??

A disgruntled Altar boy?

You certainly jump to conclusions quickly.

Why?  Ever heard of a Muslim with the middle name Cristian?

I mean the first thing you assumed was this was a Muslim attack.  That’s jumping to conclusions.

No i didn't, this is what I said:

Priest stabbed during a live-televised mass in Montreal this morning.

For pete's sake, I hope this isn't a revenge killing for NZ.  Society doesn't need more tribal conflict.  The identity of the stabber hasn't been revealed yet.  Either way, luckily it was only a knife, which broke during the struggle, the priest is going to be ok.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/priest-stabbed-during-morning-mass-at-saint-joseph-s-oratory-1.5067335

I assumed that it could be, and I hopes it wasn't, ever since the stabbing happened.  Never did I conclude it was a Muslim, I was waiting for the identity to be released.

How could it not be shocking ?

"Difficult to watch" and yet you watched it three times ?

Why ?

Did watching it change your life ?  Did it change your opinion on anything ?  Gun control ?

Settle down.

I've had the internet for 20 years. I've seen far more disturbing things.

From what I understand, there has been widespread support in NZ from the opposition, and even outside groups like the Federated Farmers Rural Security expressed support.

New Zealand has no mammals that are native species except a small bat. Lots of birds that all serm protected. Rats and wild boar are invaders. They are very strict about protection.
Seems to be little to no hunting tradition - maybe wild boars but more for protection of farming.

I have had the Internet much longer than that, and I don't seek out disturbing things to watch. I remember when the idiot with the ice pick in Montreal was all over the Internet and everyone was talking about it, I never sought it out to watch nor NZ or many of the others either. It is not just about how disturbing they are, but I also don't want to promote or glorify them. It is like all the crap clickbait on youtube that keeps popping up in the recommended lists, I intentionally ignore them because the more idiots that click on them the more they become promoted.

I'm applauding the NZ PM for her efforts to keep this murderer's identity off the airwaves as much as possible by having his face blurred on TV cameras as he goes to and from court , her efforts to get the video he made offline, and even keeping his name from the headlines. Let the courts arrive at their conclusion, and then let him disappear, for a long, long time. That approach may reduce the chances of a copycat.

This appears to have been a factor in Facebook banning 'white nationalism'.

I haven't checked in on my alt-right Facebook groups.  I am sure they're livid.  But I have to say, it's tricky getting what you want.  I'm glad to see this change, I am, but there still need to be allowances for criticism of ideas and religions fall into that.

Oddly enough, I've become a big fan of "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown recently....
