You think his economic ideas prompted him to kill 49 people?

Or was it his white nationalist, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim ideas?

Yeah he didn't go to the local bank to shoot 49 people, he went to a mosque. That should tell us something.

White supremacist written all over it.

He is an eco-terrorists as much as he is anything else.  According to one source "In his mind the world is dying from over-population, but over-population of the “wrong” kind."

The guy is clearly a loon who jumped on every hate-filed bandwagon out there to rationalize murdering people whether it came from the left or the right extremes.  The trouble is the media appears to be suppressing the actual text of the manifesto out of desire to avoid giving this guy more publicity so it means we are completely dependent on people with their own biases picking and choosing stuff in it to emphasize.

Here is a logo from the manifesto - looks like something an adolescent SJW would come up with:

Well I would emphasize that he quite clearly spoke as a Trump supporter. And he clearly states he hates people who are not white. That's not SJW characteristics now is it?

Let's all, including Tim, follow Tim's original advice:

At some point people need to be stop trying to exploit these tragedies for political gain. The people who do these kinds of things are severity ill and trying to create rational logic out of their belief systems so you can tar your political opponents is wrong headed and counter productive.

Will be interesting to see. Ardern doesn’t have a majority. Her party doesn’t even have the most seats.

49 people murdered with a legally purchased gun will certainly bring a focus to gun laws I bet.

I think in this thread, on twitter, and wherever else, we should keep blaming the other side of the aisle we don't associate with for this tragedy, while trying to disavow our own side of the aisle from any connection to it.

No doubt but it can’t come from a majority government just ramming through legislation That’s what will make it interesting.

Well in the aftermath of this thing in NZ Trump goes on record saying there is nothing wrong with White Supremacy. What side of the aisle does he come from again?

Scary to think people would actually want to watch that kind of thing. Having been in war zones I wish I had an erase button somewhere on my head.

I watched it unintentionally.  It came up on my twitter feed and by the time I figured out what is going on I had seen too much.  I blocked and reported the person.

It made me nauseous and I can't get the images out of my mind.

I saw the start of it intentionally.  I watched 1 or 2 ppl get shot and i had to turn it off.
