It's not over the top. And the people resisting action, aren't going to suddenly get involved if the language is softened. How can you fall for this nonsense?

Cyber - do you feel that there is any possibility for exaggeration ?  If so, at what point is that ?  The fact is that the media is making errors on both sides: giving space to deniers as well as whipping up the worst-case scenarios.

Unfortunately the reality of this requires subtlety and not seeing 'red' if someone hints that exaggeration is happening.

Denier exaggeration is: this won't have an impact, humans aren't causing it
Other exaggeration is: we are doomed, we will be under water in 20 years

Explain to me how having an irrational conversation helps us.  I think bringing people to the actual science will reduce the opportunites for deniers to have a voice.
