To changes.  The way humans have even doing for 10,000 years.

At least 33 million people have been affected by deadly flooding in Pakistan, the country's climate change minister said on Thursday.

Since mid-June, 937 people have died from severe rain and flooding across the South Asian country, according to the country's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Europe is facing its worst drought in 500 years, with two-thirds of the continent under a "warning" or "alert," a study by the European Commission has discovered.

Preliminary data from the European Drought Observatory found that 47% of Europe is under warning conditions, meaning the soil has a clear deficit of moisture. An additional 17% of the continent is in a state of alert, meaning vegetation is under stress.

Across Europe, hot, dry conditions have threatened livestock and increased crop failure. According to the report, grain yields are expected to fall 16% below the average for the past five years. Forecasts for soybean and sunflower yields are also set to fall by 15% and 12%, respectively.

Flooding and drought has existed for centuries.  Not every weather event can be attributed to climate change.  Worst drought in 500 years?  What caused it 500 years ago?  Why couldn’t that happen again?

We’re responsible for 100% of the changes?  That’s not provable in any way.  Regardless, whether it’s adapting to changes we’re somewhat or totally responsive for, or for changes in the past that we were not.  It’s still the same adaptation.  I guess 10% of the world should move farther inland or to higher ground.  It’s weird though seeing some of the biggest alarmists, continue to buy beachfront property.

Do we have to be 100%? That's the problem with deniers, they require 100% of everything while providing nothing of their own.

Those 10% live in some of the biggest cities and ports in the world. Many are built on river deltas. Shanghai, Rotterdam etc. Much of the BC Lower Mainland. 60% of the Netherlands would be under water at high tide. London is protected by a billion dollar flood barrier to protect against storm surges already. Most of Florida is less than 30 feet above seal level. Much of what is now the Gulf coast would be under water. Houston is only 43 ft ASL. The average elevation of Manhattan is 33 ft.

So how do they adapt genius? You have no clue, do you.

Move away from the coast.  Build flood walls etc.  Because none of what’s being talked about as remedy is going to have any measurable affect for decades.  Better put on your big boy pants, because the world’s largest carbon producers, China and India are going to be increasing their emissions for at least another 8 years.

Right, it's just all a big coincidence.

LMAO, this from the guy who melts down into a puddle of tears and **** when he's asked to not drive a gas-guzzling **** proxy or use a more efficient toilet.

The idea that the largest per capita emitters should just do nothing because these other countries are increasing their total emissions is, in a word, retarded.

So you really have no clue. How do you build flood walls along thousands of miles of coast. You are like the smoker who won't quit and says they will deal with cancer when they get it.

New NOAA data says that 3.3% of the Greenland icecap melting will raze sea levels by 10.8 inches. Sea levels will rise as much in the next 30 years as they did in the last 100 years. 10 to 12 inches. Those predictions are probably very optimistic the way melt rates and thermal expansion of oceans are increasing.

Plenty of cities/countries have flood walls, etc.  See the Netherlands for example.  Regardless, it’s going to be decades before any mitigation has and effect.  Especially since India and China aren’t reducing emissions for the next 8 to 10 years.  Those are the facts.

The idea that 18 million people in LA County and New York City alone, plus god knows how many in coastal cities around the globe should just pull up stakes and move...somewhere.

Reminds me of this:

No one is forcing anyone not to drive giant gas guzzlers and poop in smaller toilets, no idea why you're whining about that. And even if they were, the broader point stands: large-scale climate change mitigation efforts will not be voluntary either, so I can't imagine you'll cry any less about them.

The Netherlands is tiny, you can drive across it in an hour. You are talking about putting a flood wall all the way around Florida and the Gulf Coast. The Florida Keys will disappear, Most of Charleston SC and New Orleans will be under water. You want to spend trillions on just hoping you might be able to cope with it while spending nothing to slow it. Ass backward as usual.

I’ve heard this all before, several times over the last few decades.  Nothing you propose will have any meaningful effect in the next decade or two.  Those are the facts.

Actually they are, the government is.

So what happens when you are negatively affected by steps that will have to be taken to mitigate the effects of climate change. You will be cool with that?
