You're right.  I have no idea what you're talking about.

What strategy?

Are you saying that suicide bombers have a different strategy than other jihadis?

Sometimes you are so cryptic and esoteric, I'm more direct.

Suicide bombers don't do strategy.  They are pure tactics.

Would you want your long term planning to be done by a guy killing himself tomorrow?

Interesting opinion.

No.  Not an opinion, I asked a loaded question.  Was it too cryptic?

You don't seem to understand that leadership doesn't think like the people on the ground.  Bin Laden was depicted as shielding himself with a wife when the Marines came for him.  Not a suicide kind of guy.

So who is green lighting a huge operation in Sri Lanka ?  And why ?

I actually DO understand that leadership thinks differently than the people on the ground.  I've said before that the average Muslim does not understand or appreciate that THEY are being manipulated by radical Islam, the same as we are.

I also understand how religious extremists work, not going out on a limb when I say: better than you do.

Thus, the article I posted.

Ok, so you purposely posted an article that has nothing to do with the question I revived the thread with.  Got it.

Not sure what you mean MH. Strategy is about deciding what tactics to use.

In the bombings in Sri Lanka that took planning which is strategy and then tactics which is the practical application of the strategy.

The two are inter-linked.

If you mean genuinely insane people who are spontaneous when they attack, then I think I might agree with you. However what we know is the vast majority of suicide attacks and bombings are pre-meditated.

In the Sri Lanka case the President appears to not have passed on intelligence warnings from the Indian intelligence service to his Prime Minister since the two don't speak and hate each other and so although Sri Lanka was warned of impending attacks they sat on the info and did nothing.

What this means is you will see the Sri Lankan military now rule the nation and once again terrorists undermine a  democratic government.

From the sounds of it, Sri Lanka will have military rule and severe restrictions on freedom of speech and mobility now as a result of these attacks.

Once again a bunch of extremists in the name of Islam have engaged in terror.

This will ramp up tensions and distrust of all Muslims in Sri Lanka. This is a relatively recent phenomena because as everyone knows the North-South civil split between Senhalese (Bhuddist) and Tamil (Hindu) was never about religion In fact Christians, Hindus, Bhuddists in Sri Lanka as well as Muslims did not get into religious wars-it was over other things the North and South fought.

This kind of development has to add to tensions between India and Pakistan indirectly.

Rue I agree with you.

I was thinking about the strategy behind the targets.
