I'm kind of interested in seeing where this will go. It's a two edge sword, those who continually try to stifle conflicting opinions will risk having their threads ignored.

Yup.
It may be self correcting.

Well this will be interesting, we'll get to see who the real fascist book-burners are.  This will be fun.

why would you think "fascist book-burners" exist here? There is an obvious red-line... any member who chooses to edit another members post will knowingly cross that red line. Of course, taking out 'trolling Vid member type garbage' is simply required maintenance.

Do you suspect/worry the real "fascist book burners" will now migrate from you know where? I don't. Too comfortable with the moderation that favors most over there.

Blubber you again missed the point.

Being a moderator is about neutral and enforcing clear, consistent, objective standards that assure debates do not turn into personal remarks that are abusive or comments that have nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

JMT did not wish to do that. Someone else will have to or this forum will remain dead.

Expecting Granny, Waldo or Omni to do that given the words they have placed on this forum to date  is absurd.

If Omni wants yet again to name call and now invent "fascist book burners" his latest paranoid reference to people on another political forum he thinks got the best of him forcing him to flee in exile to this forum, what makes you think I want to moderate his feelings of victimhood, persecution  and petulance?

He has found his haven where he can name call others and feel superior to them. I have no intention of serving in the role of Ricardo Montalban on his Fantasy Island....however I might make a guest appearance for the right fee of course.

That or I can go back to Gilligan's Island where I like being the Professor. I like Mary Anne (Kimmy) Ginger, (Godess), the Skipper (MH), Gilligan (Sir John Argus), the Millionaire's wife (Bush Chaney) and Thurman Howell (Dougie). I am fine there because Gilligan only  burns things to help us melt marshmellows and unlike Omni he does not burn crosses or books.

Have a nice day.

Why don't you create a thread on the topic of your choice and show us what fair and balanced moderation looks like? I think you won't because you're only using complaints about moderation to distract from how waldo consistently and completely destroys all your arguments.

In his relationship with Gilligan, I always figured the Skipper was definitely,  to quote Cole Porter, "the top."

Which reminds me, I was just thinking about how the mainstreaming of gay culture has made it impossible to write lyrics like "if, baby, I'm the bottom, you're the top" without everyone knowing exactly what you're talking about.
I was watching some old SCTV and they had a skit called Cruisin' Gourmet where a guy in full leather gear was stuffing the turkey with its legs spread wide, his fist in there, and yelling "Yeah! Take it! Take it"
I don't think you could sneak that past the censors anymore.
And don't get me started on the relationship between the Skipper and Gilligan.

Jeez I hope I can scrub that image from my brain before Thanksgiving. I'm the one 'round here who gets assigned to do the turkey.
