Trudeau has blocked tankers on the north coast against the will of FN who want to build their own line. The government did zero consultation before imposing the ban, they just knuckled under to a bunch of US funded activists.
It’s not like it had anything to do with the environmental catastrophe that an oil spill would cause.
how 'talking pointish' of you! What's the magic needed to extend beyond the judicial decision's described 'note-taking'... as in what degree/level of accommodation is needed? And since you're so opinionated on this, what's the degree/level of accommodation you're accepting to?
You could read her ruling.
You didn’t read it... because if you did, you wouldn’t be on about “Canada doesn’t need to accommodate”. Paragraph 754 of the ruling specifically mentions accommodation. And there have been many court rulings that say accommodation is part of the First Nations consultation process.Read Part C of the following:https://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/eng/1100100014664/1100100014675#chp3
Don’t even bother bringing up Northern Gateway... that was dead before it started. Even I would’ve gone up there and chained myself to a skidder. BC was never going to accept that nonsense.
Poor choice of words on my part. Accommodation can mean many things. The SC has already ruled that FN do not have a veto on projects.
That’s a Straw Man. No one said anything about a veto.
Not really, where does the obligation to accommodate end? It has to be somewhere.
So, who said they had a veto? Did you read my link?
I never said you did, I said accommodation doesn't mean granting a veto.
