The higher revenue generating parts of Canada don't get as much federal spending and pay more into the confederation.  Wow...  what a shocking system!   


ummm...   people like the Fraser Institute say Alberta squandered their resource revenues.

Alaska and Norway are masters of their own houses, not subject to Canadian politics and equalization schemes. They both also have tidewater access to world markets with their oil.
