If the Liberals were in power in Ontario the Trudeau gov wouldn't make a peep.  They are hypocrites.

pro tip: provincial and federal parties are separate entities - you should know this! By the by Nipples, do you support the Ontario Conservative party using the notwithstanding clause to bust the Charter and negate the rights of Ontario workers - well do ya?

oh my! Ontario PCs state it's zero-sum - as simple as either you support never-ending strikes, or you stand with the PC team keeping students in the classroom!

cause collective bargaining or even arbitration have never resolved anything - evah!

Covid has already put students significantly behind as it is.  Teachers are being completely selfish holding students hostage to get an obscene pay raise.  Defund the teachers!  The system is broken.

How come freedumb activists squeal about Charter violations when they incorrectly think the government is overriding it, but don't care about governments actually circumventing the Charter when it hurts labour?

You said nothing when the government was trampling people’s rights.  You said nothing when the government was eroding body autonomy and medical privacy.  You said nothing when the government was freezing bank accounts without a court order.  You might want to sit this one out, hypocrite.  You have absolutely no credibility and no self awareness.

That's because they weren't. That's why they didn't need to use the notwithstanding clause, dum-dim.

Governments overrided the Charter about a gazillion times during COVID.  Typically the correct call during the lockdowns.  Use of Emergency Act is debatable.  Notwithstanding clause against the union to keep kids in school after missing a ton of time in the classroom is also debatable.

Even if using the clause is wrong, using the education of children as leverage to get a raise is reprehensible, that strike is going to be a tough sell to the public.  But i'll give it to educators, they have fantastically tough unions.

Did they go to school today? Nope. Is that the stability you said this would bring?

Teachers don't belong to CUPE. You don't even know who is on strike.

Why do they think their right to muh freedumb overrides a child’s right to learn?  Why are they so selfish?

If your concern is the children's right to learn, why don't you call on the government to go to arbitration?
