No fat woman could get elected at that size.

Not as grossly obese as the nephew, but give voters of this riding some credit.

Tough call, he is an elected MPP, but also nepotism.

For someone who **** about vague corruption all the time, you sure don’t recognize it when it’s obvious.

No, I’m not saying this is corrupt… but it has the appearance, which is what politicians are also supposed to avoid.

Well I wouldn't have nominated him if I were Ford, yes the appearance of favoritism is apparent.

I'm just saying it's not like when JFK hired his brother to be his Attorney General because he was a totally unelected appointment.  So is Ford's nephew ineligible for cabinet due to his relation even though he's an elected MP?  I would say no but he should have waited another term.

Ford does a decent job as premier and then did things like this, so dumb.

JFK made his brother Attorney General.

Micheal Ford is keeping the Ford Dynasty going.  :)

Kay well. DoFo gets to do whatever he wants with the Cabinet.

Also appointing a Toronto MPP is also good for cabinet diversity.  :P

I will admit appointing him to a Diversity portfolio is weird.

Doug Ford's 28-year-old nephew Michael Ford, newly first-time elected MPP, appointed to 'Doug Ford Cabinet' as Citizenship and Multiculturalism Minister:

wily DOFO's weightMgmtPlan - appoint more men of girth to deflect from his own; newly elected Graydon Smith is appointed to the Ford cabinet as Minister of Natural Resources & Forestry:

Also, to be fair, Only 10 Tory MPPs were not named to Cabinet or to Associate Secretary

I'm very pleased to hear that the DoFo government will actually post a Surplus.

https://toronto.citynews.ca/2022/09/23/ford-government-fiscal-year-surplus/

I know this is all due to inflation but they also gave the public a bunch of goodies pre-election so it's good that they didn't plunge the government into further deficit.

Agreed.  Hopefully they use opportunity to curtail spending a bit, so that when inflation eventually slows, the budget can still be either close to balance or better.  If we could get our AAA credit rating back it would also save a lot of money on financing the debt.

I'm very pleased to hear that the DoFo government will actually post a Surplus.

while Premier Ford is called out by the provinces 'Financial Accountability Office (FAO)' for a lack of transparency in spending intentions over the next several years, a financial report from the FAO stated:
Quote
The Ford government's current spending plan contains $40 billion in program funding shortfalls over six years, though it also contains $44 billion in unallocated contingency funds, a dramatic unprecedented level of contingency funds.

speaking of propping up those contingency allocations during the pandemic, public accounts show Ford Conservatives massively underspent federal COVID-19 funding, that purposely, "withheld $5.6 billion that should have been used to protect Ontario families from COVID, put more nurses and PSWs into health care and make schools and daycares safer". Such astute Conservative fiscal management, hey Boges!

by the by Boges: Ontario nurses, education workers and other broader public sector employees called on the Ford government to repeal Bill 124 legislation that capped salary increases for those workers at one per cent a year for three years in 2019. Various related unions have challenged the legislation as unconstitutional... and if they win their court case and if the law gets repealed, the FAO stated that could cost the province $8.4 billion over five years, including a potential $2.1 billion in retroactive payments.

clearly DOFO is too busy to appear before the Emergencies Act Inquiry - clearly!

Why should DoFo have to answer for JT's overreaction to this encampment?

DoFo was able to get the Ambassador Bridge blockade cleared.

If anything, a renewed mandate means that this government will not give Public Sector Unions double digit annual raises.

With all the school time lost to COVID, there is also popular sentiment not to let schools close again.

I suspect Dofo will be fine for fighting with these Unions here.
