Who said that every street needed to be cleared right away?

Where do you think a premier is more valuable during their day in an emergency situation:
A - shovelling out a car?
B - Organizing resources to ensure they’re directed to where they need to go?
City snow plowing is a municipal service.  There are plenty of things to criticize Ford about, but this isn’t one of them.  Choose more wisely.

Who said anything about municipalities?   Nice try.

Small nitpick... I believe there are actually provincial guidelines for when streets have to be plowed (based on whether they are a main transit route/carry bus traffic/secondary route).

Its been a long time since I looked at them, but I think the guideline is something like within half a day of the end of snowfall for main routs, 1 or 2 days for secondary routes. (Tried finding them again but could not.)

Ford's snow clearing may have been a cheezy photo op.

I guess the question is, whether him engaging in a little political showmanship would have caused an impact in dealing with the emergency. I figure much of the logistics of directing resources would be handled by underlings more familiar with snow clearing, while the premier would at best have to make one or 2 high-level decisions and then get on with other business.

The provincial government isn’t responsible for snow removal in city streets.  It’s a municipal responsibility.  It’s irrelevant where or what Ford was doing.

Once again your lack of comprehension is breathtaking to behold!!!!!

I never said the provincial government is responsible for snow removal on city streets. I said they had provincial guidelines which dictate how soon cities should have their roads cleared.

The City of Toronto failed miserably on that front then. Snow Removal was happening days after the storm.

There was a clear and present issue of scores of cars getting stuck, heck my car got stuck in this storm for a bit.

Sure it was a political stunt, but helping people who were stuck was a noble thing to do.

Yes, there are guidelines on how cities remove snow, which has nothing to do with Ford.  There are plenty of things to criticize Ford about, this isn’t one of them.  Choose your battles more wisely.

Anybody else register with the new provincial Bet365?  It's now legal in Ontario.

Technically it's only through marriage.  ;)

Doug Ford's 28-year-old nephew Michael Ford, newly first-time elected MPP, appointed to 'Doug Ford Cabinet' as Citizenship and Multiculturalism Minister:

Quote
The opposition New Democrats charged it was nepotism and questioned the appointment of a white minister for multiculturalism with “dubious” qualifications.

When asked about nepotism, Michael Ford insisted his relationship to the premier played no role in his appointment; “I completely dismiss that,” he told reporters.

For his part, Doug Ford defended the appointment — the first time in Ontario history a premier has included a family member in cabinet — citing his nephew’s “experience” as a trustee and councillor.

Tough call?

He’s a family member and a brand new MPP.

The easy call is to not put him in Cabinet.
