I know this is all due to inflation but they also gave the public a bunch of goodies pre-election so it's good that they didn't plunge the government into further deficit.
Agreed. Hopefully they use opportunity to curtail spending a bit, so that when inflation eventually slows, the budget can still be either close to balance or better. If we could get our AAA credit rating back it would also save a lot of money on financing the debt.
