I meant they didn't arrest anybody.
Why not?

Apparently not.
Why were the protesters on the Ambassador Bridge arrested?  So they had authority to clear the blockade on the bridge but not in Ottawa?  You’re not making any sense.

When did they start doing their jobs…  Immediately after the Emergencies Act was triggered.  So….  How long should the Feds have waited for the police to do their jobs?

The chief of the Ottawa Police resigned mid-crisis!

And what did his replacement do?  The plan was to never start arresting anyone regardless of who was chief.  The plan was to take away their rights by starving them of funds and setting up illegal perimeter zones.

While i don't really agree with the use of the clause, education staff using the education of children as leverage to get more money isn't akin to an innocent Bambi.

How about a pic of a bomb being dropped in kids by the support staff.

The support staff make on average 26.50 an hour.   Most only work 43 weeks a year.  Thats like 2 and a half months of of vacation where they can get another job in the summer, but most don't and they commit insurance fraud by getting EI income in the summer without looking for work which you need to under the terms of EI.  So their income is higher than 40k If they also get EI in the summer illegally, or get another job in the summer.

26.50 an hour plus EI income while on vacation is not suffering for people who work as daycare workers and janitors etc. They must be some of the highest paid ECE and cleaning staff in the country.

The cops, none of the 3 forces, were doing their jobs until the Emergencies Act was instituted.

How long should the Feds have waited before forcing the cops to do their job?

Ford blinks first! Doug Ford offers to rescind education law...

Quote
Premier Doug Ford said he is willing to rescind the legislation that made the Ontario education workers’ strike illegal if their union is willing to stop their mass walkout.

“As a gesture of good faith our government is willing to rescind the legislation, are willing to rescind section 33, but only if CUPE agrees to show a similar gesture of good faith by stopping their strike, and letting our kids back into their classrooms," Ford said at a news conference on Monday morning.

Ford said he is outstretching this “olive branch” to the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) as an invitation to return to the bargaining table.

So, the teachers I spoke to feel that this round of negotiations was, in the end, a realization of 'both sides' realizing their nuclear options - which are rather traditional:

For Labour, the threat of General Strike - which stains the government as being at war with labour peace and the status quo
For Government, the threat of Notwithstanding - the old-school 'force back to work' which takes away labour's ability to withhold work

Not sure who "won" if anyone, but it feels somewhat like CUPE did because they didn't concede and the government withdrew.

Seems kind of obvious who won if the pressure was so bad on a government, that just won a major mandate, that they had to back down and rescind their legislation.
