It's really strange.  In BC Clark seems to be seen as a moron.  I find the opinion outside BC to be very different.

I'm not sure if she learned about deflection from Kellyanne or it was the other way around. They are peas in a pod in that respect, Clark just isn't so outrageous. On edit. But she is getting there.

Not strange at all, outsiders often have a very different view of leaders than the people who actually live under them. I don't pretend to know what really motivates voters in places I have never lived.

That's true.  For example, I had a very different view of Gordon Brown than Britons.

Wynne, Clark, and Justin Trudeau.

When are Canadians going to learn that the Liberals are just wolves in sheep clothing?

In BC, unlike the rest of Canada, the provincial Liberals are the de-facto right wing party, so that isn't anything new here.   BC's "right of center" party had been the Social Credit party, but they collapsed due to scandal sometime in the 1990s.  The provincial liberals filled that void, leaving it effectively a 2-party province-- Liberals on the right, NDP on the left.  Attempts to start a provincial right-wing alternative-- a BC Reform Party once upon a time, and a BC Progressive Conservative Party more recently, have fizzled out.

But long story short, our BC provincial Liberals aren't the same as the Liberal Party elsewhere in Canada. And they don't market themselves as such. They might be the most "pro business" government in the country. They're pretty much wolves in wolves clothing.

Kimmy is right. The Liberals and Conservatives were the main parties in BC until the rise of Social Credit as the centre right party in the 50's during the Bennet years, with the NDP on the left. After the Vanderzalm conflict of interest scandal, Social Credit gradually died out with many former Socreds gravitating to the Liberals and it morphed into the the centre right party. In BC provincial politics, "Liberal" does not have the same meaning as the rest of Canada.

I disagree, federal Liberals are incredibly pro-business and have been at least for the last three decades since I have been paying attention.  The only difference between them and CPC is the Grits are socially liberal and the Tories are conservative.  That's why the Grits claim to be the natural government of Canada (gag) because most Canadians identify as socially liberal and fiscal conservatives.

Just look at our incredibly low corporate tax rate and Trudeau's trampling of FN rights in favour of pipelines and you'll see that Christie Clark is very much like her federal counterparts.
