 :D

Trending now on my feed.  It's silly and I won't promote it but it's an interesting backlash to a populist premier who thought he could gain points by demonizing TO.  Let's see where this goes.

You mean the premier that was elected primarily with votes from TO? Perhaps they should be blaming the ones took away their smaller and more responsive cities with amalgamation.

Hmmm...

You're saying Toronto is only the downtown core?

According to Toronto, Toronto is the center of the universe so should get all the votes.

No, that is according to the ROC (especially Calgary) which has always had a hate on for Toronto.

There's more than downtown in that shot.

Actually much more than the downtown core (old city of Toronto) is orange on that map, and certainly more than half of the population is represented. The two old cities I lived in years ago (Weston and York) are both orange there, as is Scarborough south west. Blue is Scarborough East, North York, and Etobicoke. Red is East York.

Yeah, okay. Let's widen out the map a bit.

Irrelevant. Doug Ford's vicious attack was specifically leveled at the city of Toronto (former Metropolitian Toronto). As I pointed out earlier, he did not do the same thing with Ottawa, which will have over 3 times the municipal representation or other cities that could have well over 10 times. This was a vicious attack on Toronto by Doug Ford, the former councilor that never showed up for work.

How do we know what his motivation is?  It could be sour grapes and an attack, or it could be as a councilor he saw an wasteful inefficient council.

I find it likely he dislikes people on the council and maybe the mayor, i also find it likely he loves his home city and wants what's in its best interests.

The city of Toronto council has just under 50 seats. Pointing at a dozen downtown seats in red and yellow and saying 'irrelevant' to all the blue ones makes no sense.

Then tell me the real numbers for the City of Toronto only, which is specifically what Doug Ford's attack was leveled on.

How many seats went to each party
How many votes went to each party

Then get back to me with real data, not some blue map of the surrounding area that is completely, 100% irrelevant.

Mississauga... 905... not Toronto.  Not impacted by the council cut ...

11 of the Toronto seats went Tory, including the premier. You can hardly claim they didn't have lots of support in Toronto.
