So I hear that the Lethbridge Police Department is basically a more corrupt version of Hazzard County PD.

Less competent too!

Alberta's new K-6 curriculum is getting panned for its focus on religion and U.S. history among other things. Some of it seems to have been cribbed from a company in Virginia while other pieces have been lifted from Wikipedia. Oh and one oof its lessons includes teaching kids about big band music through the music of Mart Kenney, who happens to be Jason's grandfather and who no one else has heard of.

If you need further evidence that this is really f**ked up, it's been endorsed by the stupidest man alive.

As someone who is likely to be stuck in this craphole province for the forseeable future and has kid who is three years away from entering the school system, this really pisses me off.

I would second Black Dog’s sentiment about the infighting in the Alberta government if it was on a less serious subject than COVID.

But when the clowns in the UCP oppose their own government, it slows the response and more people get sick and die.  And these people aren’t all the libertarian jackasses unfortunately.  Seeing them suffer and die after they naysay vaccines and efforts to minimize COVID would be great....   but most of them probably are actually careful about it while spouting their nonsense.

Like this Alberta MLA who even refuses to say whether he’s been vaccinated.

Kenney apologizes for not following health restrictions…. After he denied he did anything wrong for several days.

Sincere?  Oh sure…. Apologies always seem sincere after denying them for days first.

One MLA resigned his position.  He has been criticized by other government Cabinet Ministers.

wow.

Quote
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, as well as several of his key senior ministers and inner circle advisors have been having repeated secret, illegal dinners during their government’s lockdown, the Western Standard has learned.

Sources – one minister, two MLAs and several senior staffers, including one in the Premier’s Office – say the booze-fueled covert dinners have been happening since January.

Request for comment from the Premier’s Office was not returned as of publishing.

All of the sources who spoke to the Western Standard on condition of anonymity say the Kenney dinners have often taken place at Bottega 104, an Italian restaurant approximately 10 minutes walk from the Alberta Legislature.

A manager at Bottega 104 denied that any illegal government dinners took place there, but several MLAs say that it was the most common place for the dinners to be held. One source in the Premier’s Office said Kenney’s government SUV was regularly parked in front of Bottega 104 during the evening.

I guess they should help, but I don't really feel sorry for them.

Kenney is a true idiot and deserved much blame, but this is also on Albertans themselves too and the anti-vax anti-restrictions crew.

I hope they've learned their lesson, unfortunately the hard way.

And maybe they should remember this the next time they talk about seperation or complain about the heavy hand of Ottawa.  We're all in this together.

Heck no.  But then again, I don't think we should be treating unvaxx'd in the hospitals either and not a lot of people share that view.

I think anyone who feels they know better and doesn't want to take necessary precautions should deal with the consequences.

It was funny watching Kenney grovel and apologise though.

Would this apply to smokers, drunk drivers, abortions, alcoholic people too etc?

1) none of the often-cited examples are highly transmittable and can kill another person for merely taking an elevator ride with the affected person.  Apples and oranges.

2) more importantly, if there was a free, readily-available vaccine which would reduce the harmful effects and the smoker, alcoholic, drunk driver refused to take it... yes, indeed, I believe they should also be refused medical care as well.
