Living next door to Alberta has really opened my eyes to the futility of healthcare as a provincial jurisdiction during a pandemic when the freedom of movement is a federal issue. I sincerely think we need a federal state of emergency to suspend freedom of movement.
Alternatively, let the feds make the calls on restrictions, but I think for provincial rights it makes more sense to suspend freedom of movement.
Horgan says he 'tried' to do it but I have a hard time believing it. We seem to love the dirty tourist money.
We also can't assume Alberta-type thinking simply ends where the BC/Alberta border is marked on the map. I see in the federal election results a lot of conservative seats in the east half of the BC. Sounds like AB/SK spillover.
BC has some case problems, I assume it's due to these folks and AB travel. We had provincial travel restrictions in our province, I thought provinces could do it, but i have no idea.
