what loss! Clearly you're under some misguided impression that provincial and federal parties are aligned. Your take is as stupid as assuming the DOFO PC win was a 'win for the federal CPC Conservatives'... cause their the same don't ya know! LOL! Respectively, what a moron you are!

I never mentioned anything about the feds.  What an odd comment.  Are you telling me you weren't rooting for your Liberals in the ON election, true believer?

the waldo is telling you that the correlation you're attempting to draw between Ontario provincial & federal parties is minute, is minuscule, is tiny, is micro, is teensy, is teensy-weansy, is itty-bitty.....

I'm not making any correlation whatsoever. This is all in your mind.

I think there's a link between the Fed Libs and the Ontario Provincial Libs. There'll always be a link.

I'm sure waldo rooting for a Pierre P CPC Leadership because that will drive a massive wedge between Dofo and the CPC. They aren't playing from the same playbook.

MSM media proclaimed Dofo as the most powerful Conservative politician in the country.

oh my member kimmy... you're going to wear that laugh-guy image out!

I simply don't know if I can take seriously the views of somebody who doesn't recognize J. Jonah Jameson.

So in this election the major unions endorsed Ford rather than the NDP. I gather this is pretty much unprecedented.

Valuable Kimmy Points to anybody who can explain to me why the unions endorsed Ford rather than Horvath.

Sorry, you said that before but is there a cite? From what I saw there was one construction union that supported Ford and the other ones went as they usually do.

And let's concede something Ford did not go to war with Trudeau as Kenny did, he put public health officials front and center, dropping a division of rhetoric, and generally pushing positive politics, as well as traditional conservative values such as paving over the green belt and helping your cronies.

That's because it's difficult to imagine things that don't happen.

This week, IBEW Canada Vice President Tom Reid released a statement distancing the national union from a segment of 11 IBEW locals that make up the IBEW Construction Council of Ontario because the CCO endorsed Ford’s government whose policies have “negatively impacted” many other IBEW members:

“The IBEW has a total of thirty-three (33) Local Unions across the entire province of Ontario, with members working in construction, utilities, railroad, manufacturing, health care, marine, government, telecommunications and much more. Many of these members and their families have been negatively impacted by legislation and policy decisions the Ontario PC party made during the last four years in office.”

Does anybody have a rundown of how much support - how many unions and the membership totals - Ford did or did not get ?

I'm sure kimmy is referring to Private Sector Unions.

Looks like a lot of Trade Unions. Likely due to his appeal to increase construction project, including this Controversial Highway across the North of the City.

International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793, representing more than 18,000 Ontario crane and heavy equipment operators, is the latest private-sector union to throw its support behind the PCs.

“We need support of skills training, not just of our trade, but for all the construction trades,” Local 793 business manager Mike Gallagher said at a PC campaign event at the union’s head office and training facility in Oakville.

“We’re looking forward to working with Doug Ford when he returns to premier of Ontario on June 2.”

The IUOE nod comes two days after United Association Local 784 (HVAC&R Workers of Ontario) endorsed the PCs at a Brampton campaign stop.

Eight trade unions and industry groups – including the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), Residential Construction Council of Ontario and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Construction Council of Ontario – have endorsed Ford’s PCs this election.
