What do you say ?

What do you say ?
I say SURE. There are at least a couple of people over "yonder" who seem smart and therefore frustrated from the trolls and rednecks they have to deal with there, and may well prefer to switch.
-
What about us uneducated, working class simpletons? Should the forum not be a reflection of the general population?
-
hey MH, might that be book smart? Street smart? Word smart? Smart ass? Smart uhhh...... culture? Or what???
there's a sniff of elitist exclusive BS in the air! Dumb rights are human rights!

And then there's when you swing the hammer and hit the wrong nail.
-
Dumb people shouldn't be allowed to speak. They say dumb things. They don't add to the debate, they hinder it.

Uneducated and working class are not mutually exclusive. These days you can give yourself a PHD equivalent with only an IP address.

My grandfather was a labourer and self-taught. He would have called you a peasant.

Well, they ARE boring and a waste of time. But if they're nice they can be ok.

Does that mean I will have to leave?

Naw, pilot's get a break.

You're a pilot, right?

But not an apostrophist, apparently.

Naw, pilot's get a break.
Why? But I'll take it.
-

True enough, I wasted all that time striking the apostrophe key unnecessarily. And I'll also admit I used "spellchecker" to get the number of letters necessary to spell "unnecessarily" correctly.
Whew, I need a break.
-
Why? But I'll take it.
I understand it's due to all that time spent absorbing increased solar radiation levels at the job site.

does not mean what you think... wait... is this a test for smartness?

I have a question for Mr. H. On the other site you have a club called Sudo Intellectual Somethingorother. I was wondering if you meant "pseudo" or if "sudo" is a word I've never heard of, maybe foreign?

sudo (/ˈsuːduː/[4] or /ˈsuːdoʊ/[4][5]) is a program for Unix-like computer operating systems that allows users to run programs with the security privileges of another user, by default the superuser.[6] It originally stood for "superuser do"[7] as the older versions of sudo were designed to run commands only as the superuser. However, the later versions added support for running commands not only as the superuser but also as other (restricted) users, and thus it is also commonly expanded as "substitute user do".[8][9] Although the latter case reflects its current functionality more accurately, sudo is still often called "superuser do" since it is so often used for administrative tasks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudo

Ahhhhhhhh! :)
I should have just asked our IT guy, he's in the next office over. Thanks for the info, I feel smarter already. 8)

No ... It was purposefully misspelled for playful reasons.

Ya well, I got my share of that all right.

Ah but the flip side according to Einstein, is that moving at speed actually slows down the passage of time. So you are actually number of seconds younger than you thought you were.

I don't think gravitational time dilation is quite that high, over the course of a lifetime you might be a second younger than someone in distant space (ie. away from a massive object). Now relative velocity time dilation is a different story, but you would have to have something to compare to.

Damn!, and here I was trying to convince myself I should go out and buy a new Corvette.

I have to take from MLW. Pumping August is producing less clean water than dust these days and Argus has gone crazy on me again.
Just because I want to put alt-rights in ail does that mean I'm not for freedom ???? :D :D :D

Sir argus has found a near perfect audience for his alt. rightness, and then the perfect combo with that is some religious nonsense and the admin. is on your side. He and Betsy must be ruling the roost over there. :D

Dunno I have almost everyone blocked.

What happens on any forum is that you will not attract fresh blood if there is no genuine debate or free flow of ideas? There is no point of a forum if the same few members cluster phack on the same views. So we must ask ourselves are the discussions on this board or any board seeking new members flee flowing and if not why not? Or have have they bogged down to the same few posters trying to impose their ideology on the board and if so why....
Surely to attract "smart" members they need to see respectful free flowing debate You ever notice when any of us becomes a regular on a forum we develop this familiarity of contempt for other regulars and short cut our responses with insults and !!!! marks or comments like "that's bull ****" and ending the comment there?
I would suggest we have to push each other on any site to explore different opinions in debate. Debate is a great thing but it requires we avoid personal attacks and actually want to take time to consider the other side of an argument not dismiss it without thought.

We weeded out a troll. We're ok. We need more people though. I'll post on my FB feed next.

We did not. Mr. Taylor did MH with due respect. The self limiting problems on this board speak for themselves.
To be specific you and I know who comes on this forum to use insults to block responses and not debate them.
It speaks loudly and it limits new members and MH all I can do and most do is avoid communications with such people at this point unless its absolutely necessary and
its caused good people to leave this forum.
No point any of us denying that.

I suppose so, but the community did help in that you didn't have groups of people storming off the board in protest.
-

do you remember that time I played a sample list of your insults thrown... from just the one thread! Ah yes, you clearly have a most self-serving recall/memory, hey! Do you and I know the guy on this forum who regularly engages in GishGallop, in dropping 1500-3000+ wordTurds... all purposely intended to deflect/distract and stifle legitimate discussion, all intended to monopolize threads? You know, that would be YOU!
poor lil' Rue, always the victim! ;D

Lol groups of people? There might be 20 at tops on this board at this point and from their posts but hey I can't count.
-
Lol groups of people? There might be 10 at tops on this board at this point. But hey I am not the expert on keeping count MH.
Well, ok... you didn't have ANYONE didn't do that.
-
I new I could count on you. Well I mean rely on you.
