Take the quiz.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2018/nov/21/how-populist-are-you-quiz
I'm almost halfway up the vertical populist axis and a couple squares left of center on the horizontal axis. I'm most similar to AMLO (Andrés Manuel López Obrador) the Mexican President and least similar to Trump.

That's the score I got when I did it on my laptop this evening.
When I did it on my phone earlier today I came closest to Barack Obama and furthest from DT. I don't know what I answered differently.

SOULMATES!!! :-*

Non-populist left for me. Not close to anyone on their list.
-
Closest to Obama, farthest from Trump and just below the horizontal, slightly to the left.

Same here.

Introduce this over at mlw. Anybody want to wager on where the likes of bc4 and taxme score? :D
-
I think most people who do this will be furthest from Trump simply because he's the furthest to the right on their grid.
There's no way Obama is close to the middle on the populist/elitist axis on their scale. What he said was often left-populist but how he governed certainly wasn't. He was quite elitist, in bed with the Washington insiders, lobbyists, big corporations & corporate donors etc. Trump is a reaction to what he and his predecessors have done or failed to do the last 40 years.
-
I keep taking these things and landing squarely in the centre.
I am worried.

You're far more populist than me, anyway - I'm slightly below the line and significantly to the left; 5 over and 1 down from Obama.
-
My score was Cybercoma’s except below the horizontal axis.
-
It will surprise no one that mine was on the right and above the horizontal axis. But not by a hell of a lot. I'm about four over and five up. I question the validity of this quiz, though, as the questions would seem to often bear little resemblance to populism. They're more about ideology.
-
I'm upper left quadrant, just a touch about Obama.

Commie! :o

Commie! :o
Typo - I meant "above" Obama.
And that's MS. Commie to you :D

ok, ok... months back there was a flash of media appearances... now, again, Harper's back! On Fox a few days back, and now under the guise of fake academia, he drops a video about "Populist Conservatism"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFWE2jl5mwA
(while, apparently, presuming to disregard/discount Russian influence in electing Trump)
separate from discussing the merits (if any) of Harper's spiel, just what is Harper's end game here? Just to sell books... or is Harper angling for something else here? Surely he's aware Scheer has a lock on the Harper2.0 brand/persona - surely!
-
He wasn't populist. One acronym:TPP.
