Title: Another one bites the dust

Dave “Tiger” Williams, the former Toronto Maple Leafs professional hockey player, has been charged with sexual assault and assault after an incident on a military flight during a trip to visit Canadian troops in Latvia.

The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service charged Williams with two counts of sexual assault and assault under the Criminal Code on Thursday after Williams allegedly assaulted a stewardess on board the military flight in December 2017.

While military police laid the charges, Williams will be processed through the civilian court system in Ottawa.

Is this a one-off, possibly fueled by alcohol and machismo?   Or will women start coming out of the woodwork to detail a pattern spanning decades?

Too bad. You hate to hear things like that. Tiger played four years with the Canucks. Lot's of penalty minutes but was quite an effective player and entertainer. Big factor in their 82 cup run. Made the all star team that year.

I agree.  I'm not a particular hockey fan, but even I heard about him.

Wow, nifty searching.  But these are different times.  Perhaps Woods will have a different experience.

Young fit men in an occupation with lots of groupies, it's no mystery why things can sometimes get out of hand. Especially when you add alcohol.

Back in the day and I mean at least until the 70's and 80's, NHL teams used to go to the bar after road games. Just like beer leagues.

Good point.  I worked briefly with a girl who talked about how she dated Canuck players.  She seemed pretty impressed by that.

I have a good buddy who grew up with a guy who played for the Bruins during the eighties. When they were in town playing the Canucks, he would go down and drink with most of the team in their hotel bar.
