So I guess we can compare jT's Merry Xmas with Trumps, except donny really said, exactly...nothing. Of course donny needed to go play a round or two of golf. I wonder if he stubs his toes as often on the course as he does off it.

Worst Christmas gift you ever got ?

For me it was at that game at work where you exchange presents with people who came before you...

I picked first, unwrapped it and it was a pair of cheap women's stockings from Chinatown. Like $2. Looking around, sadly, I knew who bought the presentÖ but I hoped that she would at least exchange with me when she got her turn butÖ no. And of course nobody exchanged else with me.

So that was my gift.

The other bad thing last night was the guy who gave me the ride back to the subway blasted Zamfir live at the Acropolis the whole 15 minute drive.

Actually, it would be one of the best.  A mild version of covid that provides good immunity.  Especially if youíve also been vaccinated.  Embrace omicold.

These will soon be Halcyon Days for the Covidiocy, omicron will be presented as evidence that covid was never anythin to worry about. How long will it be until anti-vaxxing conservatives are claiming credit for omicron? Without vast pools of unvaccinated incubators we might not have a safer mutant.

Try to keep up changing reality.  Nobody is saying that it was never anything to worry about.  At least for some people.  But the new variant doesnít effect the lungs in nearly the same way.  Unless youíre elderly or have serious underlying health problems, itís not something to be afraid of.  Covid sin general is similar.  Thatís why the average age of a covid death in Canada is actually older than life expectancy.  The average age of a covid death in Ontario is 83.  At that age, even the flu can be a serious threat.  I know these facts must be surprising to some of the Branch Covidians in the forum, as youíve been conditioned to believe covid is equally threatening to everyone.  And these are facts youíve probably never heard before.

I was optimistic putting wretched 2020 behind with a new hope of vaccines on the horizon. This year feels more depressing, like spring 2020. I never knew so many selfish people and borderline sociopaths lived amongst us.

Itís sad that youíve been so misinformed as to think in such a distorted way.  People exercising their fundamental rights, isnít selfish.  Itís actually selfish to deny people said rights over irrational fear.  Itís also sad that youíve been so misinformed as to think that omicold and the irrational fear around it is the fault of so-called selfish and sociopathic people around you.  Delta came from India.  Omicold came from South Africa.  Vaccines donít prevent the spread or infection from any version of covid.  They minimize its impact and render to negligible.  Vaccines should be considered a way of protecting yourself, but not others.  These are important facts that your sources of information have completely failed you on.  Many others in this forum seem to be under the same lack of understanding.

Upward of 40% of people have some kind of 'underlying condition'. You really have no idea how your body will react to the virus until you get it. I know a double-vaxxed 70 year old who died. I know a healthy' 57 year old who couldn't work for nearly two years because of long covid.

It saddens me that so many people only think about how the virus will affect them and **** everyone else.

Youíre correct.  Many people lead unhealthy lifestyles.   Have these people lifted a finger at to change it?  To eat healthy and exercise?  Nope.  They prefer telling other people what to do.  What to wear, to stay home, to not go to school, to shut down their businesses.  Their sole act of taking any responsibility for their health is to sit their ass in a chair and get jabbed with a needle.  Thatís as selfish as it gets.  Regardless, we do know how the virus will react with the vast majority of people.  It will be just like the flu.  Your citing of extreme circumstances is no different than an anti-vaxxer citing similar circumstances of harm from vaccines.  Somebody dying from covid after being fully vaccinated is lower than the odds of dying in a car accident.  Covid spreads through vaccinated people as well.  So blaming unvaccinated for covid spreading is unscientific.  Itís all based on emotion.  Covid isnít going away, just like the flu isnít going away.  Iím sorry that you were led to believe otherwise.  My suggestion for you is look at the data, and youíll feel much better about things.

In a way, yes.  Covid is fuelled by obesity, diabetes, COPD, etc.  Regardless of their vaccination status, theyíre still at risk of hospitalization.  But even a stupid, but young and healthy person isnít.  However, thatís not really what I was getting at.  But that nuance may have been lost on you.

Wow, so much caca in one place I don't even know where to begin.

First, quit with the condescending tone, everyone has known for a while now that covid will become endemic. For it to get to that stage we will be able to mitigate the risks with little loss of life and economic disruption. What is preventing it from becoming endemic, oh yeah, the unvaccinated. So yes, I do hold it against them when they fill up hospitals and take beds from people who actually need them for things that can't be easily deal with from a needle.

Two, your 'let er rip now that we're vaxxed' lost all credibility because you wanted to let er rip even before we had started vaccinating. You showed yourself as a sociopath ready to sacrifice the vulnerable and elderly just so you can go to a restaurant. What you say now holds zero value, the trust is with science and science is urging us to still be cautious.

Lastly, Canada is not South Africa demographically. Better be cautious while we see the effects on our healthcare than find out too late. If you want us to trust you over science, see point two.

Or things like school closures will be a regular feature as people continue to get sick even with "mild" COVID.
