Exactly.  This isn’t aboriginal land, it’s Canadian land.  Aboriginals were conquered, at a time when conquering people was common place, as has happened a thousand different places around the world.
Actually they weren't conquered. We didn't have indian wars in Canada, as a matter of fact they were our allies when the US invaded in 1775 and 1812.

I’m not sure that them being allies doesn’t mean they weren’t conquered.

Well...... I mean there WERE wars.  England vs France and the native people picked sides on that, as well as warring with each other using European weapons.  There isn't a lot of that that is discussed...

They were never "conquered." This is why there needs to be education about treaties. People don't even know their own history. It's pathetic really.

Huh? I don't think there's anyone who seriously believes everyone lived in peace and harmony before the settlers came.

Not really true.  Treaties lay out peaceful terms of coexistence between the Crown and indigenous people.  Things like natural resources, railroads going through territories etc

It used to be but I don't know what they teach in history these days. My point was that there were no Indian wars in Canada like the US. The closest we came was the Northwest Rebellion which involved the Metis. The FN who fought with the French or English usually did so they could gain an advantage over other FN.

Well, for sure there's an idea that something like that occurred... maybe not in academic circles. I'm saying that there are distorted versions of what it was like.
