The thesis may or may not have value, but let's be clear that this entire topic serves a chief function of attraction of interest to media because it's inflammatory.

The topic is entirely given attention out of proportion to its priority to the public, IMO.

Now kimmy has characterized my assessment as me saying that 'people should be quiet about it '.  I wouldn't say that exactly.  I'm trying to say that people should be more interested in other, more important things.

But in a world where our collective information services provide entertainment value as a chief function, this is where we are.
