Do you ever get tired of people telling you how to speak?
I would ask you what was woke about that, but I realize you just repost memes and rarely understand why. You couldn't even define what woke means.
Because a media organization has updated how their reporters use terms about disadvantaged people, you think that is telling you how to speak?Do you still use the term “negro”? Are you sad that it fell out of favour?
Woke is “being aware of important societal issues.” That’s what The Associated Press is trying to do here. It’s not rocket science.
Don't you ever get bored with not knowing what you're talking about?
Decolonizing soup classes! These people are lunatics! 😂What a great use of tax dollars. (Attachment Link)
Given the problems we face, paying attention to woke stuff seems so trivial...The youngsters will have their revenge soon.
I agree with that for the most part. However there are certain instances of woke extremism that does have significant real world consequences. I would also argue that CBC could make better use of tax dollars than on decolonization of soup programs.
This might help you understand the terms you are using and, in the future, feel less stupid. Always happy to help.https://www.cbc.ca/news/indigenous/panel-debate-decolonization-meaning-1.4609263
