I took 2 1/2 years off work and was able to keep busy just fine.  I taught beginner flamenco a couple of times a week and did a little bit of modeling now and then (which paid much better.)  Would love to go back to that but need to earn a bit more money before I can.  Damn work interferes with my life too much, lol

Bah.  Really enjoying my routine these days.  A couple of hours of arguing on the web.  An hour or so of chores.  An hour or so of TV.  The rest of the time goes here and there :)

Which means... I think I am about to get a job...

I'm 75% sure I'm going to get this one...

Sounds like my weekends.  I really need to be more disciplined...

Honestly, I am ok with how I have spent and wasted my time since early Sept.  Now I seem to have an email in my in-box.  Probably an offer.  Really should get to that.  :(

Yes, so I start work next Monday.

Contractors - especially IT - who have switched to full-time: I will have to do this on this contract.  What's the formula to convert my hourly rate to a good ask-for in terms of yearly salary ?

Congratulations, but now you have to be even more careful.

4 more days of freedom... I suspect I will be on here much less frequently for a month or so, and then somewhat less after that...

I am glad that I could use my unemployment to post on here.  I much prefer the discussions on here than the other place right now although we need more conservatives, ie. the good kind.

Working for a living sucks.  This place wasn't the rosy dawn it seemed to be on GlassDoor.

My coworker works 60 hour weeks... good thing I am getting an hourly rate :D

Okaaaay.... 3rd day in and we're looking at a rollout of a major software package that will have high visibility in a major Canadian chain.  The director of QA says she needs 4 more months to test, and the Business Analyst says maybe 1 week.

 ??? ??? ???

This is going to be a test of wills but there is no way anybody should roll something out unless it's 100% ready to go.  Good thing I'm not yet jazzed about working there, it should be easy to stick to my guns on this one.
