Jets lost. Blues came back from a 2-0 deficit, to win 3-2. I feel sick.

St Louis was one of the best teams during the second half of the season, and I think everybody knew the Jets were in for a tough series.

Aside from Columbus shocking the hockey world, the Islanders, Hurricanes, Stars, and Avalanche have also been impressive so far.  I didn't expect Carolina to give Washington much of a challenge, but they have made a series of this.  The Stars are giving Nashville a real fight too.

On the other hand, while Tampa Bay is certainly the biggest bomb in the playoffs, the Penguins and Flames are not far behind. Calgary still has a chance to turn things around, but they haven't looked like a #1 seed, or a team that can win 3 straight.  They better get it together fast. "Johnny Hockey" has certainly not been "Johnny Playoffs" so far.

...and they're gone. Four straight losses and were really not in the game or the series.

After an amazing regular season the Flames bombed in spectacular fashion in the playoffs. Johnny Hockey had 99 points in the regular season, but just 1 assist in 5 playoff games.

"Johnny Hockey"! So bad that there are still broadcasters that trot that stooopid nickname out! Who knew a smurf couldn't handle playoff hockey - who knew!

(waldo saving grace: I trust that's the last we'll see of the mega-grating Cassie Campbell during the playoffs - to endure her voice is one thing; to listen to her moronic comments is beyond the pale!)

Well the Jets lost to the St.Louis Blues, and were eliminated from the playoffs.  It was a depressing game, as the Jets deviated from their usual "play hard for 40 minutes, then burnout in the final 20" game plan, to "lets not show up for the first 50 minutes, and go all out in the last 10." Unfortunately the Blues took to a 3-0 lead, and won the game 3-2.

Winnipeg joins Calgary and Tampa Bay, as teams who were favored to win, but choked. I will now cheer on Columbus.

Blues win their series....  great for my pool.

Caps are 1 game from winning...  also great for my pool.   1 more win to go.

Dallas eliminates Nashville in an exciting game.

All three teams advancing in the West all upset their opponents.  It will be Dallas vs St.Louis in round 2.

And meanwhile, the Carolina Hurricanes force game 7 against Washington.  Whatever happens I think the Hurricanes can hold their heads high.

More game 7s tomorrow, with Toronto/Boston and Vegas/San Jose.   Meanwhile the Bluejackets and Islanders have been sitting around doing nothing for a week.

geezaz! The CNBC/NBC commentator Allison Jaime "A.J." Mleczko is the worst yet... she actually makes the nauseating Cassie Campbell look good!

is pushing female commentators another Bettman play for expanding viewership - surely the networks can see they're providing nothing positive to the coverage - well, nothing other than banal/obvious comments that is.

I never heard a color commentator who didn't make obvious, annoying, banal comments.

Huge game for the Leafs tonight.  It's do or die against Boston.

The Leafs have a chance to win a playoff series for the first time in 15 years.

Vegas plays Game 7 in San Jose.

The Winnipeg Jets are off to a great start this season at 13-8-2.

Hellebuyck has been playing awesome for the past month, after getting off to a slow start
Kyle Connor has 14 goals
Scheifele leads the Jets in points, after signing a long term deal
Morrissey continues to be the most underrated Defensemen in the league
The PLD trade has improved the Jets. Vilardi just returned from injury, and Iafallo has been a pleasant suprise.
Cole Perfetti is having a breakout year, and may eventually be our top forward.
Niederreiter just signed a 4 year contract.
Lambert, McGroaty and Chibrikov are turning into great prospects, and going to be impact players in the future.

This could be the year the Jets go far in the playoffs.
