Listen, I'm the whitest, middle-ageist male around.  You can get me interested in women's stories by just telling them... well.

I have noticed that some well-told women's stories have caught my attention lately, and it isn't my liberal heart wagging it's hearty finger at me that's doing it.  They are interesting because they're different.  Jesse Brown of Canadaland has articulated that on his show also - the newness of such stories makes them interesting.

Similar to how hip-hop captured the hearts of middle-class white kids in the mid-90s, I am interested in the true struggle and challenge inherent in women's lives and will follow the stories.  The stories I am thinking of are not struggles with sexism, or men, but rather struggles particular to women in James Brown's proverbial "man's world".   I'm thinking of stories in Orange is the New Black, High Maintenance right now.
