The NFL quarter-finals were this weekend. It was a pretty exciting weekend of American football, for those who follow the sport.  Some of the best quarterbacks ever were in action.  Tom Brady, arguably the best ever, showed why in making mincemeat of the Tennessee Titans. They could do nothing to stop him; the Gronk was in great form as well.

Ben Roethlisberger, the Harvey Weinstein of the NFL, wanted revenge on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Early in the season the Jaguars humiliated Big Ben by intercepting him 5 times, blowing out the Steelers, and left Roethlisberger with a QB rating even lower than his IQ. He got his wish, the Steelers got a rematch with the Jaguars. And Big Ben had a spectacular day. He was awesome, proving why he will be in the Hall of Fame some day.  He threw 5 touchdown passes and his 469  passing yards were just shy of the NFL playoff record. Unfortunately for Ben, the Jaguars still won.  The Jaguars, after winning 10-3 the week before, won 45-42 this week.  The score actually flatters the Steelers, as they scored their final touchdown as time expired.

And Drew Brees led the New Orleans Saints into Minnesota. Brees is probably not recognized as being among the top quarterbacks ever, but his numbers say he should be. The Vikings dominated the first half 17-0, but the Saints roared back in the second half to take the lead late in the game, 21-20.  The Vikings regained the lead with a field goal shortly afterward, but Drew Brees led the Saints down the field to regain the lead with just 30 seconds left.  And then, with the Vikings down to their final seconds and far from field-goal range, this happened:

This is probably one of those plays that will become part of football folklore.
