The Bills are GOOD this year?  Having difficulty processing this.

The NFL's breakout player this year seems to be Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson, who has been a threat both throwing and running the ball.  He is in the Michael Vick (pre dog-fighting) mould of being a QB who is so dangerous running the ball that you have to allocate defensive resources to containing him, which in turn opens passing opportunities.  The Ravens are the NFL's runaway scoring leaders, and it's because Lamar Jackson is so difficult to defend against.

1. Good for Buffalo, yes.  They are a winning team who can compete even if they're not entirely consistent.  They still can blow it.

2. Aaaaand... the Ravens play the Bills next week.  If the Bills lose by 3 or do better I will be satisfied.

Pretty funny - these guys ran the 2008 0-16 Detroit Lions through Electronic Arts football and played the same play all season - throwing to their best receiver.

See how they did

Drew Brees threw a near-perfect game Monday night, going 29 completions on 30 attempts for 307 yards, 4 touchdowns, and no interceptions.   The game itself was a record setter, as his 29 completions on 30 attempts was the highest completion ratio ever in an NFL game.  But more than that, Brees also passed Peyton Manning to claim the all-time record for career touchdown passes. He currently stands at 541 touchdowns, 2 ahead of Manning, and 3 ahead of Tom Brady.

Brady is still active and might still claim that record, but Brady is 42 and Brees is 2 years younger. Brees is still playing great football, while Brady is struggling a bit right now.  I wouldn't bank on Brady claiming the TD record from Brees.

Bills blow it, then Texans ALMOST BLOW IT, then Bills blow it.

Still.  Josh Allen just needs a lobotomy and he'll be a star.  Emotions are his enemy.

And the Patriots lost at home in a glorious way.

And the Patriots lost at home in a glorious way.

Despite having one of the league's best defenses, the Patriots lost 4 of their last 6, including an embarrassing loss to the lowly Dolphins that cost them a free pass to the second round. Instead they ended up having to play one of the league's hottest teams in a wildcard game.  The offense that used to blow everybody up has been very mediocre lately, and the famous last-minute comebacks have gone missing.

Brady says he's not likely to retire, but he is not his old self right now, and at 42 years old he might never regain his old form. His contract is expired, and so even if he doesn't retire this might still be his last game with the Patriots. We may have seen the end of an era.

One GOOD thing about watching on Twitter is the MEMES.

They were tweeting Ryan Fitzpatrick as the guy who ended the Patriots' Dynasty !  ;D

OVERTIME !  And the Vikings' Cousins delivers a HUGE THROW.

First time ever that two Wildcard games have gone to OT.

Fantastic.

Plus Joan is letting me watch football AND say 'Unbelievable' many times...

Huh ?

They're saying the Vikings won.  I guess if you get a touchdown in OT you win ?

Ok then.

Upset unless they review the play.

Glad to see the Vikings win but the NFL has the dumbest OT rules in existence. The idea that a team might not get a single possession is absurd. Winning the coin toss is a huge advantage.
