Ya, another anniversary. Remember where you were when you heard or are you old enough? I do.

I wasn't alive yet.   Many people found out while watching Monday Night Football:

I found out after arriving home here west coast after changing planes in New York on the way home from work overseas on the very day. A shock for sure.

John leCarre.

The undisputed greatest spy novelist ever. There have probably been more movies made from his books than any modern author other than Steven King. Way back when, the BBC did a couple of mini series of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Smiley's People with Sir Alec Guinness as George Smiley. I was hooked after that. He released an autobiography this year and I was looking forward to reading it. He may have known this was coming.

Just looked and both series are on YouTube. I’m going to watch them again.

An interesting editorial on how the death of celebrities can affect us, which I really related too.

Dawn Wells, Marianne from Gilligan's Island.

RIP dies of Covid at 82.

I was a Ginger man.  My first longings were of her.

Then I moved to Marianne, and finally Mrs. Howell

Ginger is the last survivor from the island. Does she win $1M?

Cloris Leachman made me rethink the attractiveness of middle aged women (in their favour) when I was a lad watching the Last Picture Show.

Well... I feel like he was kind of an odd figure... a star but... I can't think of a great role, myself.  Maybe I just didn't like his movies.
