Ennio Morricone died this summer. He was the composer of legendary movie soundtracks including The Good The Bad and The Ugly. He was literally older than dirt, and was there in person while the West was being Won. This is him at the conductor's podium for one of his most famous pieces:
Naya Rivera drowned in July while boating with her young son. Apparently her son fell off the boat, and while she was able to rescue him, she was too exhausted to get back on the boat afterward. She was just 33. She was a model, singer, and actress, best known as Santana (the snarky lesbian cheerleader) on Glee. She and Heather Morris (Britney, the airhead lesbian cheerleader on Glee) were the cutest couple on TV. Even though Glee sucked, I sometimes tuned in just to see what kind of hijinks they were up to.
