Re: Targeted Advertising Culture.

Work-related stuff all the time (which this seems to be) like project management tools

At my work computer I do get work-related ads. But it's usually stuff that I can see why the robots assume I'd buy it.

Ads for things I already bought, like eyewear and mini vans (those are kinda my jam)

This always amuses me. Spend a couple of weeks pondering the right thing on Amazon, finally pull the trigger, and you get two months of suggestions like "Based on your recent searches..." or "Similar to your purchase..."    I just bought one, I don't need another one.

Trips to Israel (because I'm a wannabe Jew I guess ?)

Once in a while I've received tourism ads suggesting places I've never had the slightest interest in going. I can only assume these aren't "targeted".

I used to visit atheism related blogs pretty often, especially "The Friendly Atheist". I was always amused by how often the sidebar ads were selling religious items-- books, movies, videos, Jesus-fish car ornaments, this sort of thing.

beep-boop ANALYZING... Viewer is interested in... RELIGIOUS TOPICS. CALCULATING... beep-boop Sell viewer... JESUS-FISH CAR DECAL. OPERATION COMPLETE.
