Yesterday morning, I was in Dauphin doing the weekly business that's necessary to keep things running. While there I got a message from my girlfriend's sister - their younger sister (15) had been found dead. Kayla is a late sleeper, so I rushed home hoping that I would get back before she woke up (it's an hour drive). I made it just in time to spend the next few hours in bed with her, comforting her.
This morning, we found out that the sister hung herself with her own sweater, from a curtain rod. She had spent much of her life in CFS care, and was a product of alcohol and drug abuse. She had a rough life. Kayla had only recently started to reconnect with her.
Not to be that guy, but, her social worker has set up a go fund me page to help out with the funeral costs (they are relatively substantial). My family has given several donations (there are 3 in my name - one from myself, one from my business, and one from my parents). I'm not asking any of you to do something you're not comfortable with (we're just people on the internet after all), but here is the go fund me page:
