Also their generation never really lifted their boot heel off the throat of Gen-X so that gen was largely skipped over. There are some great Boomers, but many are narcissistic jerks who refuse to accept they as a gen sold out their values for mountains of **** in the 80s.

I'm a boomer, my kids qualify as GenX and so far all is good. We are all products of the time we live in and this intergenerational BS gives me a headache. Every generation thinks it is smarter than the ones that came before and after. Tiresome.

It depends on where you were (at least in the 80's). When I was living in Europe, you paid by the minute (actually shorter increments) for even local calls. Some phones even had meters on them so you could watch your pocket book draining as you chatted away.

Used to buy phone cards in Germany and use them in pay phones.
