I suggest AA. If nothing else it will give you a chance to meet and learn from people who have been where you are now but have managed to stay sober for years.

You should also talk to you doctor. Quitting suddenly can cause serious health issues, such as seizures, depending on how much you have been drinking and for how long. These issues are easily managed with medical help.

Also, talk to your doctor about drugs that reduce physical craving such as Naltrexone. These drugs are *not* a magic pill that makes the problem go away but every little bit helps in these early stages.

Finally, stick with it. If you have been drinking for a long time the next 6-12 months will be absolute hell. But if you can persevere your life will get better than it has been for a long time.
