I thought I'd found a forum with some mostly intelligent conversation but it is not to be, the little clique here won't allow diverse opinions.

do you have... intelligent conversation to offer? If so, please post it. That would certainly be preferred to your nonsense act where you insist in tagging posts as Dumb. If only you channeled as much energy/attention into your supposed "intelligent conversation"!

projection much? Interesting that you would reach so... do you see/interpret misery in everything/everyone you disagree with?

No reach.  No projection.  Just an observation that your posts are mostly personal attacks.

In real life, I am the last person anyone would call miserable.

I don't rarely initiate "attacks" - but I certainly respond, in kind - and I also, typically, give better than I get! The member Rue is trying very hard to deflect from his inability to write concisely, to write with brevity, to write without typical GishGalloping. Hey, if you're fine with the guy's tl;dr bullshyte and its purposeful intentions to distract/deflect/monopolize threads, to avoid actual legitimate discussion/debate, you're an anomaly to the board's other member grouping that has openly critiqued his purposely written tl;dr posts.

In real life, I am the last person anyone would call miserable.

and yet, in all your self-proclaimed elated joyfulness, you're so quick to throw that label... at an anonymous persona!

Yes, you do seem to always take things to a whole new level of nastiness.

I'm a happy person, but not a stupid person.  Your "anonymous persona" portrays kind of a miserable, vindictive, petty person, as evidenced by your comments above.

the ole adage, "I don't suffer fools gladly" certainly applies! And that's exactly what the member Rue plays at with his tl;dr posting... fools gots to fool!

I'm a happy person, but not a stupid person.  Your "anonymous persona" portrays kind of a miserable, vindictive, petty person, as evidenced by your comments above.

these following posts are your above evidence... where you subsequently quoted my reply and trotted out your miserable labeling. The guy is full of himself; he's so preoccupied with tagging posts as Dumb, he has no time for his presumed "intelligent conversation". Tagging posts Dumb... for Dumbs sake... warranted the response given. Presuming to whine about a, "clique stifling diverse opinions" is nonsense.

I thought I'd found a forum with some mostly intelligent conversation but it is not to be, the little clique here won't allow diverse opinions.

"I don't suffer fools gladly"

Yes, someone else here described themselves that way, too.  I think the phrase means something different to everyone.  I personally don't consider it a positive attribute.  It suggests to me that the person is brusque to the point of rudeness, uncaring about the feelings of others and given to rages over petty things.

I suffer and even enjoy fools at times, as part of the human comedy, because all of us are fools sometimes, some of us fools often. If someday my obituary says "She was much admired, above all for her ability to suffer fools gladly", I'd be good with that.  Because when I read "He didn't suffer fools gladly" in an obituary, I immediately think, "cantankerous old bugger."

Perhaps such people should be grateful that some us DO suffer fools gladly.  :)

again, member Rue isn't always the fool - only when he refuses to write concisely with brevity in mind... only when he refuses to discuss/argue isolated/targeted points - the ones he can't hide from within his tl;dr refuge... only when he plies his "go-fetch routine" by ta-da dropping links without quoting from them... etc., etc., etc..

It is quite telling that he reaches for drama because he's called out on his purposeful want to post 1500-3000+ wordBombs... that you, apparently, suffer gladly!  ;D

Just behave like civilized adults, it's not that hard.  We've all graduated from kindergarten, we all know how to behave respectfully. Even if we disagree with someone and think their opinions are "dumb" we don't have to use that kind of language to insult them.

Sorry JMT, but your moderation at this forum isn't very good, because it's barely existent. This has led to back and forth insults being allowed to continue and turning into petty rivalries that drip into just about every thread, users fleeing the board because of it (ie: Argus, though he was also part of it), and other users have also mentioned it being a problem here for them not posting as much.  It's VERY CLEARLY a problem, so fix it.  Or let the board turn to crap like the other one, which it's getting close to anyways, except it's the left-wing version here.  How ironic.

Ah I would disagree with most of that. The moderation on this site IS very good because it is nowhere near as disruptive nor as right wing biased as over yonder. Argus is over there because he fits in much better within the general dialogue. Yes at times there are insults here, and sometimes threads drift, but neither the threads nor the people get banned over it. Members can refocus the thread and carry on. There are certainly lots of insults thrown around over yonder but you can only get away with them if they are thrown in the right direction.

member Rue, please stop derailing and disrupting threads... please bring your baiting and insults to this thread.
