Wow.  Just finished this minutes ago.

Although it ended up with a lot of emotional band-aids for Americans, almost skidding the ending, they finished up philosophically and kind of generally,  Given that the American people *refused* to let one of the American murdering war criminals at My Lai go to prison, it was brave of the film makers to show the North Vietnamese side of things.

Hard to believe that Vietnam lost 3M people (the US lost 60K) almost 10% of their population, I think.  And even more amazing that after that war, they were unable to get any kind of economy going.  It's a testimonial to the sheer impossibility of Communism I guess.
