I've launched my little skiff this year, set my crab trap, staked out a spot at the dock just a short walk down the hill - I got a jump on the crowd early this year, it'll be my means of commuting to the bigger boats I run at work. Start keeping an eye out for logs drifting by to fill up the wood shed with too. Bait is easy to come by, I know half the trawler skippers around here and they've just about always got something left over in the net that'll 'freshen' up the trap.
I'm sitting in my boat drifting quietly along with the incoming tide after having straightened out my crab gear. Got three today after nothing all week...it's inexplicable! I'm pretty sure I've got an enemy raiding my trap but I beat them to it today. I think I'm going to get myself an attack drone.
