The whole premise of Diehard 2 was that all these aircraft could be held hostage to a few loonies at an airport. In Washington.
Yeeeessssss...
The problem with this is there are a bunch of other airports locally, including military airports, which would have no problem landing those aircraft. All the cops had to do was call one of the other airports and tell them. Apparently this did not occur to anyone. 
They had hijacked the aircraft radio band ?!?! Get realistic, jeeez.
