Bigger board, just saying.

again, what held you back? - just saying. What's your bigger criteria? - just saying. C'mon, really... how many regular posters are there on that "bigger" board? When does a board need a bigger boat?

How is a board more than a boat ?

I think it's pretty obvious that there are more posts there and more users.  Why the quibble ?  Who care anyway ?

ya ya, that's the guy! That Argus guy was always a strong proponent for an unfettered, unrestricted, open-borders immigration policy... well, "somewhat" so, right? It was always heartening to read another Argus gem (ala the Fraser Institute, et al) assuredly making the case against immigration being needed to counter aging and low fertility rates while supporting future social program requirements. Notwithstanding the guys penchant for taking non-Canadian/non-American figures/conditions/events and liberally attaching them to North America. But ya, as you say, "generally on the same page"!  ;D

You think immigration is the central cultural touchstone for Canadians? Most don't even give it a second thought. Disagreeing on immigration doesn't mean disagreeing on the core values of Canada. I think your issue is you think anyone who disagrees with you on anything is a terrible person.

buddy Argus, I simply replied to a, as quoted, post that emphasized immigration - no need for you to personalize this... in a thread about you!  ;D By the by, you sure seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on immigration related topics given your claim that, "Most {Canadians} don't even give it a second thought." Are you making up the slack, hey?

I don't believe you have ever written a post which did not seek to personalize a discussion. It's your schtick to insult and attack those whose opinions you dislike.

I didn't insult you in the prior posts...

How about all the posts criticizing a poster here for his role at a different forum?

I'll be straight - I thought about that, but, since Argus doesn't exist here, I've let it go.  It's very (very) on the line.

For the record, I happen to like Argus, and I tend to agree with him more than I'm willing to admit.

And with that, I have accomplished my goal of this thread:

We comprise a public of interested individuals, conservative and liberal, who seek to discuss issues and acknowledge that the viewpoints, though disagreeable, are necessary to the process overall.  It seems elementary but much of society doesn't seem to understand this basic building block of our society.

Go forward, citizens, and evangelize this among your like-minded compatriots especially.  Point-to-point social media has reshuffled the deck and a new pattern of edifying discussion needs to be re-built... by US.

Wasn't referring to Argus.

I like Argus.  I'd like to share a cigar and a bottle of scotch around a firepit with him one evening.

Common amongst flamencas.  Scotch and cigars is how the best singers get their raspy, gravelly voices.  (I do not sing, only the baile and palmas.)

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, Michael.
